Home Profile
Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 1, 2026

Home Profile helps homeowners create a structured profile of their home and generate a personalized maintenance calendar. This Privacy Policy explains what information Home Profile collects, how it is used, and the choices available to you.

Information You Provide

Home Profile may collect information you enter into the app, including property basics, construction details, heating and cooling information, hot water details, outdoor and exterior information, systems and appliance details, maintenance task activity, completed task logs, task notes, notification preferences, and app settings.

During setup, you enter a ZIP code. Home Profile uses it on your device to determine your climate zone. Your ZIP code is stored only on your device and is never sent off your device; only the resulting climate zone is used for AI calendar generation.

Information Stored on Your Device

Home Profile stores your home profile, generated maintenance tasks, completed task history, task notes, notification logs, onboarding status, and preferences on your device using local app storage. This information is used to provide the app experience, show upcoming tasks, track completed maintenance, and manage reminders. This app data is not included in Android cloud backup.

AI Calendar Generation

When you generate a maintenance calendar, Home Profile sends a request to our backend service, which runs on Google Cloud (Firebase Cloud Functions in the United States). Our backend forwards the request to a third-party AI service provider, currently OpenAI, with Anthropic as an alternative provider, depending on configuration. The generated maintenance tasks are returned to the app and saved on your device.

The request contains a structured home profile made up of predefined choices and yes/no answers, such as property type, whether you own or rent, year-built range, number of bedrooms and floors, climate zone, construction and exterior details, heating, cooling, and water heater types and ages, and whether your home has features such as a sump pump, septic system, solar panels, EV charger, or security system. It may also include which task categories to regenerate and where in the app the request started (for example, during onboarding, on demand, after a profile edit, or in the background). Values outside the predefined choices are discarded by our backend.

Your address, ZIP code, task notes, name, email address, other contact details, and device identifiers are not sent for AI calendar generation.

If calendar generation during setup is interrupted, Home Profile may retry and finish it in the background.

Our backend does not store your home profile or generated calendar. It processes the request and returns the result to the app. The AI provider processes the request under its API data policies. Under those policies, AI providers by default do not use API data to train their models, but they may retain it for a limited time for abuse and safety monitoring. For details, see the OpenAI and Anthropic policies.

Do not enter sensitive personal information that is not needed for home maintenance recommendations, including in task notes.

Service Logs

For each AI calendar generation request, our backend logs operational information, including the outcome and any error reason, response times, the AI provider and model name, input and output token counts, the number of tasks returned, whether the request was a full or partial regeneration, and where in the app the request started. When a request fails, we may also log the names of profile fields (never their values) and the AI provider's request ID.

Our logs never contain your home profile values, generated content, or IP address. Separately, Google Cloud's infrastructure request logs record information such as IP address and user agent, which are retained according to Google Cloud's standard retention.

Remote Configuration and Diagnostics

Home Profile may use Firebase Remote Config to manage app settings such as notification timing and dashboard display limits. The app or platform services may also process basic technical information such as device type, app version, usage events, diagnostics, and performance data to help maintain and improve the app.

Home Profile uses Google Analytics for Firebase to log app interaction events, such as onboarding steps, task actions (including task category and urgency), filter use, calendar generation started, succeeded, or failed (including where the request started and the failure reason), and ad impressions. Google Analytics also collects standard information such as an app-instance ID, device and app information, and the advertising ID. These events do not contain your home profile values, task notes, or other free text. Automatic screen reporting is disabled.

Home Profile uses Firebase App Check with Play Integrity, which sends device and app integrity signals to help verify that requests to our backend come from the genuine app.

Home Profile may use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and diagnostics (such as device model, OS version, app version, and stack traces).

Advertising

Home Profile is supported by ads served through Google AdMob, including banner ads, interstitial ads (for example, after you complete a task), and rewarded ads (shown before profile regeneration; regeneration still proceeds if no ad is available).

Google may collect and use your device's advertising ID, device information, and ad interaction data to serve, personalize, and measure ads, under Google's policies. To learn more, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in your device's Google settings (for example, Settings > Google > Ads, depending on your device).

Notifications

If you enable notifications, Home Profile may use your task calendar, notification preferences, quiet hours, and notification history to send seasonal maintenance reminders. You can manage notification permissions through your device settings.

How We Use Information

Information may be used to:

Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. Information may be shared with service providers and partners that help operate app functionality, including:

Google may use information collected through ads to show personalized ads, as described in the Advertising section. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or with your consent.

Data Retention

Your Choices

You can update information in the app, manage notification permissions through device settings, and delete app data by using device app settings or uninstalling the app. Because app data is not backed up, uninstalling the app or clearing its data permanently deletes it. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in your device's Google settings. Because Home Profile does not use accounts and does not collect contact information that lets us identify a specific app user, we generally cannot locate or act on a request to access, correct, or delete data tied to an individual person. If you have a specific privacy question or request, you may still contact us and we will assist where possible.

Children's Privacy

Home Profile is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
